Duality refers to two sides that compliment and don't conflict with one another.

My intentions for this shoot were to capture continuous movement to represent the taoism belief that "constant change is the nature of everything" which is symbolised by yin and yang. I will be using the long exposure technique.

(Using myself as a subject)

After experimenting with the watch, i came across problems with setting the f stop/shutter speed and exposure correctly. But through trial and error I finally got to the right settings. For this image I decreased the f/stop to 2 so that the lense could take more light in and capture the movement in more detail. However to see the gesture trail I lowered the ISO so it was a bit underexposed so that in post, I can lighten it up to the correct level.

I am thrilled with how this photograph turned out. I think theirs a beautiful fluidity to the motion of the model and the texture of the blur slightly reminds me of an oil painting.

I think this is most similar to Franchesca Woodman's photography in terms of creating a unearthly atmosphere. To improve this I could try to create more depth by creating shadows.
